Dear Residents & Friends of Devoran,
Devoran Community Association Trustees are all now stepping down and the DCA will no longer be in existence from today. The Trustees feel that during the five years since its formation, DCA has coordinated and supported village events and organisations for the benefit and well-being of all and fulfilled its remit. It is time now to step aside and let the village organisations flourish and work together to continue these aims. Many DCA Trustees also serve on other committees in the village and will continue to support community activities.
DCA Trustees wish to thank all the volunteers who have turned out to help with events and activities and support their local community. Thanks particularly go to the Village Hall, Devoran Pre-School, Devoran School, Devoran Church, Devoran Methodist church, Devoran Scouts & uniform organisations and Feock Parish Council for their continuous support for DCA over the years.
The Village Markets will now be coordinated by Devoran Village Hall & Devoran Scouts, and the Christmas Lantern Parade and Carols around the Tree jointly by the churches and Devoran Pre-School. The DCA Facebook page will remain public for anyone to publicise community events they may be organising. DCA Trustees look forward to seeing residents old and new help to coordinate and support activities going on in Devoran to keep it the vibrant, friendly and creative place it is!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING YOUR COMMUNITY

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came along to Devoran Park this afternoon to celebrate Queen’s Birthday Party. Special thanks to those of you turned up this morning to put up the marquee in the (at times pouring) rain and also those who helped clear the park this afternoon. Also Prof Bryan Clark for a fabulous Punch & Judy show, Lanner & District Silver Band (amazing!) and all the DCA Trustees who coordinated the event.

Devoran Railway Centenary Festival 25-27 September

Full details of all events for the Devoran Railway Centenary Festival can be found on the facebook page:
http://www.facebook.com/devoranrailwaycentenaryfestival

DCA is coordinating and supporting the Devoran Railway Centenary Education Project with Devoran School and Devoran Village Hall.
In June writer Rebecca Gregson gave workshops to the Year 5 & 6 pupils at the School helping to create stories about journeys and looking at the history of Devoran and its railway.
Rebecca will be running a FREE community writing workshop on Saturday 26th September, 9.30am-12noon in the Village Hall (Ages 12 to adult). She will be using the DRC festival exhibition as a stimulus for ideas and all work produced will be considered for publication in ‘Devoran Journeys’ a book celebrating the stories and artwork of Devoran School pupils, writing from the Community Writing Workshop and photographs from the Festival weekend.
This Project is also supported by Heritage Lottery Fund, Cornwall Community Cashback and Feock parish Council
